Throughout the previous school year the Prep teachers visit each of the Kindergartens in Healesville with our school captains. It is lovely to spend time with the kinder children in their comfortable environment. 

At the end of Term 3, the Prep teachers make a time to meet with the Kinder teachers to discuss and learn about those enrolled at Healesville Primary.

Our formal transition then begins in Term 4, with four sessions where children can participate in the classroom environment and get to know the Prep teachers. Two of these four sessions are involved in a specialist lesson for example STEM, Art, P.E. or Performing Arts. The remaining sessions are in a Prep classroom with the Prep teachers. We also invite our upcoming Prep families to attend a BBQ dinner at our school where they get the opportunity to meet with our Prep families at our school.

In our final transition session, Prep children are introduced to their new teacher and meet their new classmates for the following year. On this day parents have the opportunity to meet with the Principal at our Prep ‘Meet and Greet’, information presented during this session includes uniform, Before and After care and general school information.
